Awareness and Fundraising Events

Come join us at any of our Awareness or Fundrasing events to show your support!  Awareness events are monthly while our fundraisers are 2 to 3 times a year. We’d love to see you there!

Come be a part of our upcoming Pickleball Tournament!  Help us raise funds for our 1st Light program.  This program helps children on their first day of foster care.  Help us provide the necessities they need and support they deserve.  Enjoy a day of pickleball and see if you can win yourself an award for best pickleball player in your category!

 

When: June 13th from 10-3pm

Agenda:

  • Wave 1 – 10-12pm (Beginners, Average Skill level)*
  • 1 hr food/rest break
  • Wave 2 – 1-3pm (Intermediate, Semi-pro)*

Check in at 9:30am and 11:30am

Where: 3rd Shot Pickleball

How: Round Robin style which ensures all players 2 hrs of play.  

Who:  All pickleball players of all skills.  

We will have a court available to learn the sport of pickleball.  If you are new to the game and want to learn, come join us and we can teach you before you play in the tournament or just learn and watch players.  You can choose how and what to play.

Cost: Early Bird $45 until May 31st, and $50 until June 13th.

We will have specialty tickets available:

  • The “Mulligan” ($5): Let a player buy a “re-do” on a missed serve.
  • The “Wrong Hand” Challenge ($10): A donor can pay to make an advanced player play their next game with their non-dominant hand.
  • The “Kitchen Pass” ($20): Allow a beginner to step into the “Kitchen” (non-volley zone) for one point without a penalty.
  • Players Bundle Tickets ($25) – 2 Mulligans, 5 Raffle Tickets, and 1 Wrong Hand Challenge.
  • Raffle Prizes will be available to try for.  Donated gift baskets and gift cards for examples. Also a 50/50 raffle for any participants.  50% of the amount raised will be awarded to one lucky winner!!
  • Raffle tickets are $5. 

Food Trucks will be available to purchase any food for yourselves or families.  Water will be provided for players.  Contests will be available to participate in for those who are not playing to see if they can win a prize of their own!  Family and Friends are not charged who would like to watch.  Come and see what we are about and root for your “team”.     

Equipment is available for use from the venue for this tournment with an ID.  There is a pro shop if you would like to purchase anything for yourself as well.

Volunteers needed!  Click below if you would like to help out this day!  All Volunteers will be able to make the most of this day with us and we won’t be able to do it without you.  No experience necessary to help.

2nd Annual Easter Egg Chase!

Welcome to the 2nd Annual Easter Egg Chase with The Light House!  All families that have been affected by foster care are invited.  If your family is in foster care, kinship care, adopted, or reunified with family, come celebrate Easter with us.  All ages are invited and the littles will have their own hunt to keep them safe from the older kids.

This Easter, The Light House will host a Chase for children to get their easter eggs.  Volunteers will run around with eggs attached to their clothing for the kids to grab.  The Easter Bunny will be there as well as his friend Violet the Egg for pictures!  Games and food will be provided.

We will also have resources there for families from local nonprofits and companies that support the foster community.  Come for the kids activities and get some much needed support for your family!
